Our Challah

Challah is Jewish festive bread, which is made from rich dough with the use of yeast. Challah is woven in the form of a braid. For weaving, you can use from three to six bundles.
The word “challah” comes from the name of one of the 613 commandments from the “Pentateuch”, which is performed when kneading dough for holiday bread. The commandment is called challah or the separation of challah. Afrashat Challah (separation of challah) is one of the commandments that must be fulfilled exclusively by a Jewish woman.
Previously, even in the most difficult times, on Saturdays, on Shabbat, challah was baked in every Jewish family.
