Bat Mitzvah Curriculum
What is the soul and how young Jewish women can use it to connect with inspiring Torah women. Our mothers and modern actual examples from real life. The study and performance of certain prayers and rituals, both at home and in the synagogue, in order to understand and appreciate their meaning.
The Jewish calendar, studying the holidays as they approach. Shabbat, Jewish life cycle, Israel (Holy Land), Judaism in modern society. Lessons are included in events and seminars on the subject. Activities also include challah baking, food decorating, field trips, guest speakers, overnight stays at Shabbat, and outreach to the Jewish community.
As communication develops at this crucial turning point in their lives, they develop friendships and a sense of unity with other Jewish girls their age. They learn about the positive contributions they can make for themselves, their families, and the Jewish people. This develops a view of herself as a committed, knowledgeable and self-confident Jewish girl who is proud of her unique identity.
